The Fox, Little Wratting

We went to this pub again for the second time last night. It was also a bit disappointing in that we were the only people there.

On the other hand we had a very good meal, with a great bottle of wine and all at a very reasonable price.

I wonder if the nearness to Haverhill and the meat factory puts people off. But for us it is a convenient restaurant about fifteen minutes from our home.

So do give it a try by phoning 01440-760950.

6 of us went to The Fox at Wratting on the 11th April. The place was not busy, maybe 5/6 tables in use
Food was "ok", but the sevice was a disgrace. Staff were friendly enough, but not up to speed with what they were doing.
White wine was served in red wine glasses, Hence not enough to go round, so we had to have another bottle.
Jug of water was bought to the table after the second request, NO glasses. Had to ask for them.
3 qarters of toast to go with the pate starter, no butter(not even 1 slice)so we asked for more.
Main meals were a very long time coming, when we asked for vinegar a"sarsons" plastic bottle was presented.
Coffee was served before our deserts. No esspresso cup, so it was lining the bottom of a huge cappuchino cup. No brown sugar, and white sugar was in a glass dispenser which you would expect to find in cafe.
All in all a very "un-spectacular" evening for my sons birthday.
WON'T BE GOING BACK !!!!!!!!

We actually found the Fox at Little Wratting to be very good. The decor is gorgeous, good menu, if not very adventurous (and v slightly overpriced, but nowhere near as bad as it used to be!)

The new manageress, Sarah, is doing a good job in trying to shake off the reputation that the Fox has acquired through bad management and ownership throughout the years, and actually, the Fox is probably one of the most stylish pubs I've been in for some time. Oh, and I run pubs for a living, so please let me assure you that criticism comes far easier than praise!!

We'd go here again, certainly, and if you're lucky enough to catch Sarah, have a chat with her; she's truly passionate about her business.
